The money dance involves the male guests "paying" to dance with the bride. However, guests are expected to be generous when "paying" since the money collected is used by the newlyweds on their honeymoon, and when setting up their new household.
The bride often totes around a satin drawstring purse for guests to stick bills in, and dollars and coins are also tossed to the couple on the dance floor. Because the concept of asking for payment may make most American brides uncomfortable, you may consider incorporating this tradition using coins, or fake money which is passed out at the wedding.
