Heart Shaped Churros - A Delicious Treat For A Mexican Wedding

While looking through pictures recently from a gorgeous destination wedding in Mexico, I was struck by one of the pictures that featured the idea for a tasty wedding treat that I just loved! A churro, which is sometimes referred to as a Spanish doughnut, is a fried pastry-based snack popular in Mexico, Spain and much of Latin America. They're generally covered in sugar, and they are delicious! This wedding served a big pile of churros -- shaped like hearts! What a wonderful and creative idea for adding a special romantic touch to this Mexican staple, not to mention a delicious wedding treat.

Korean/Mexican Wedding Cuisine - Bulgogi-Style Burritos

In the last post I gave a great menu idea I found for a cultural fusion wedding, with the suggestion of tandoori chicken tacos at a Mexican/Indian wedding. I love this next idea equally, to be eaten at a Korean and Mexican inspired wedding. I'm a big fan of bulgogi -- a Korean dish that generally consists of marinated barbecued  beef, but can also be made with chicken or pork. While often served fairly simply with rice, or even just lettuce and tomatos, this great idea for a fusion menu involves serving this traditional Korean staple...in a taco! Gourmet tacos have become an increasingly trendy menu option, they're fun and customizable, easy to eat, and everyone loves them! Let your imagination run away with you on taking bulgogi and other traditional Korean barbeque meats, and serving them with a Mexican twist!

More Ideas For Mexican Wedding Favors

A few days ago, I did a post which suggested tying in your destination by getting guests authentic Mexican wedding favors, and today I want to post something in the same vein with a few other great favor suggestions!

I read an article recently with tips and suggestions for a Mexican theme wedding that gave some great ideas in terms of favors. One of my favorites was the idea of giving authentic Mexican seasonings in cute bottles. Not only does this idea score major points for uniqueness and creativity, but I am always a fan of favors that are truly usable, and will last down the line after the fun and games of the wedding have ended and your guests have returned stateside. They also suggested wrapping traditional Mexican wedding cookies in tulle and tying them up with different colored raffia or ribbons. Another great suggestion -- small pieces of hand-painted terracotta pottery filled with wrapped Mexican candies, which are now available in the specialty aisles of may grocery stores.

Use your imagination, favors are a great way to show your guests that you appreciate and value their presence, and that you've putting some time into thinking of a way to show them that!

Mexico Inspired Weddings Among Top Trend For 2011!

Para ti Novia is a site which features modern Latina weddings. They recently featured the top five wedding trends of 2011, and among them...Mexican Inspiration!

Para ti Novia fully admits that they may have a SLIGHT bias for all things Mexican, but they swear….Mexico/Mexicali beach weddings are really really the thing right now, and I've been saying the same thing!

"We love everything Mexico inspired of course. But, we really really love Mariachi’s and definitely love Papel Picado," exclaims the site.
