Mexican and Muslim Wedding Cultures Collide!
Karina and Majid both knew when planning their wedding that family was very important to each of them, and that both had a strong cultural heritage. They celebrated their Muslim and Mexican backgrounds with two ceremonies--in the tradition of each. Their Muslim ceremony was just a few days before this Mexican themed wedding. In going with today's earlier theme of melding different cultures in with a Mexican theme, I thought it only appropriate to feature this gorgeous wedding. And Kristy Huston does an amazing job of capturing the charm and vibrance of special occasion!

Wedding Superstitions in Mexico
Although they generally wear white gowns like American brides, Mexican brides generally try to include some bold colors in their wedding ensemble. By sewing three ribbons to their undergarments--yellow to symbolize the blessing of food, blue to bring good financial luck and red to summon a passionate union--they ensure a happy marriage.
