Plan Your Dream Honeymoon:Travel Tips from an Expert

Looking for tips and ideas while planning your honeymoon? Destination I Do Magazine turned to the help of an expert for some advice. EverAfterHoneymoons.com's expert Katie took her love of traveling and turned it into a job – honeymoons!  Katie provides tips on how to create your dream honeymoon and peruse featured destinations. As a travel expert and honeymoon-planning aficionado, Katie has written some must-do’s when planning your honeymoon. Here are some basic tips she gives to any couple in the planning stages:

1. If you're looking to relax on a beautiful beach for your honeymoon, don't fly too far from home! Find the nearest coastline, this way you can spend more of your budget on a great hotel, spa and fun activities rather than on your flights. An added bonus is more time honeymooning, less time traveling!

2. If there is any activity you want to do during your honeymoon then make sure schedule it ahead of time. A safari, bus tour, spa package, zip lining, wine tasting or snorkeling... whatever you imagine you and your sweetie doing definitely look into it ahead of time.

3. The number one thing she reports hearing from couples is how thankful they were to have their first day or two of the honeymoon to recuperate. After all the wedding day stress, traveling and time changes don't try to load the first day full of activities. Take a day or two to relax, sleep, and unwind.

Best Beach Reads For Your Destination Wedding/Honeymoon

If you're planning your destination wedding and honeymoon to Mexico, you'll undoubtedly be spending an extensive amount of time soaking in the sun on the beach. And while you'll be largely enjoying the quality time with your new spouse, you'll also need a good beach read -- because there's only so much gazing into each others' eyes that anyone can do... if you're looking for a quality read this summer, look no further! The Huffington Post provided a great list of books that you won't find on The New York Times best seller list, or in People magazine -- take a look!

"Kisses Of An Enemy" by Ray Flynt (Thriller) A thriller set in Washington, D.C., "Kisses of An Enemy" is about scandal and duplicity in which practically none of the characters have any virtue or morals. Who doesn't love a little bit of smut and scandal in a crime thriller?!

"A Secret of the Universe" by Stephen L. Gibson (Inspirational) "A Secret of the Universe" tells the story of two childhood friends, who, in the wake of sudden tragedy, come to develop radically different world views. One young man finds biblical teachings to have even greater resonance in the modern world.

"Siren's Feast, An Edible Odyssey" by Nancy Mehagian (Memoir) Set primarily against the backdrop of the turbulent Sixties and early Seventies, "Siren's Feast" tells the tale of a rebellious daughter who forgoes the safety and security of suburban American life and sets off on an adventure that leads her to some of the remote outposts of the world.
